A federal judge has rejected attempts by Apple, Alphabet's Google, and Meta Platforms to dismiss class-action lawsuits alleging their platforms facilitated illegal gambling. The suits, filed in 2021, accuse the companies of hosting and profiting from casino-style apps through commission structures.

Plaintiffs argue these tech giants processed payments and collected up to 30% commissions on apps mimicking Vegas-style slot machines—generating an estimated $2 billion in revenue. The court notably dismissed the companies' Section 230 defense, ruling their financial involvement exceeded mere content hosting.
